About Author

Robert Jordan (born James Oliver Rigney Jr., 1948–2007) was an American author best known for creating the epic Fantasy series The Wheel of Time. A graduate of The Citadel military college, Jordan served two tours in the Vietnam War before pursuing a career in writing. His early work included historical novels and Conan the Barbarian stories, but he achieved international fame after publishing The Eye of the World in 1990, the first installment of The Wheel of Time.

Renowned for his intricate worldbuilding, deep mythological influences, and expansive cast of characters, Jordan became one of the most influential Fantasy authors of the late 20th century. After his death in 2007, the final volumes of The Wheel of Time were completed by Brandon Sanderson using Jordan’s extensive notes, ensuring the conclusion of the landmark series and solidifying Jordan’s enduring legacy in modern Fantasy literature.
