The Scorch Trials continues The Maze Runner series as Thomas and the surviving Gladers escape the maze only to face a new and even deadlier trial. About Author

James Dashner (born 1972) is an American author best known for writing young adult Science Fiction and Fantasy, particularly The Maze Runner series. He was born and raised in Georgia, USA, and studied accounting at Brigham Young University before turning to writing full time.

Dashner began his career with Fantasy novels, including The 13th Reality series, but achieved international success with The Maze Runner (2009), a dystopian thriller that blends survival, memory loss, and moral choice. The series’ popularity was further boosted by successful film adaptations.

His work is characterized by fast-paced plots, high-stakes environments, and themes of identity, loyalty, and ethical ambiguity under extreme pressure. Dashner remains a prominent figure in Young Adult Dystopian Fiction, with his books translated into dozens of languages worldwide.
