Book Description

Ragnarök retells the Norse myth of the end of the gods through the lens of a young girl reading mythology during the Second World War. Blending memoir, myth, and ecological warning, A. S. Byatt reflects on destruction, survival, and the human need for stories in times of crisis. The novel’s stark, unsentimental tone emphasizes inevitability and loss while questioning whether renewal is still possible in a damaged world.
