About Author

John Grisham is an American novelist and former attorney best known for his bestselling legal thrillers. Born in Jonesboro, Arkansas, in 1955 and raised in Mississippi, Grisham earned his law degree from the University of Mississippi and practiced criminal law for nearly a decade.

His debut novel, A Time to Kill (1989), drew on his courtroom experience and launched a career that would redefine the Legal Thriller genre. Many of his novels—such as The Firm, The Pelican Brief, and The Runaway Jury—have been adapted into major films. In addition to adult fiction, Grisham has written Young Adult novels and nonfiction, often focusing on justice, corruption, and the flaws of the legal system.
