About Author
Jeff Brown (1925–2003) was an American author best known for creating the beloved children’s character Flat Stanley. Born in New York City, Brown studied at Williams College and later at Columbia University before working in advertising and writing.

He published Flat Stanley in 1964, introducing a young boy who is accidentally flattened and discovers the advantages—and challenges—of his unusual condition. The book’s humor, imagination, and gentle problem-solving made it a classic of Children’s Literature and led to a long-running series continued by other authors after Brown’s death.

Brown’s work is remembered for its creativity, warmth, and enduring appeal to young readers, with Flat Stanleyremaining a staple of early reading programs worldwide.
